Background
Valentina, originally from Santiago, Chile, graduated from Psychology at the University of Chile and a Master in Science in Human Ecology at UW-Madison. In 2018, she moved to Madison with her family, experiencing the challenges of immigration personally. This experience fueled her passion for the well-being of Latine communities facing similar hurdles.
In Chile, she advanced wellness programs at the Junta Nacional de Jardines Infantiles for public employees. She developed a pioneering Retirement program and on-site self-care workshops called “Bienestar en el lugar.” Valentina aided the Latine Senior Community at NewBridge in Madison, initiating the first 6-week Online Wellness Series Talks during the pandemic. She later joined RISE’s Welcome Baby & Beyond Program to support Latine caregivers of young children.
Valentina is excited to work at Maria Mora Pinzon Lab, striving to expand access to mental health resources for Latine communities.
She is proud to be a Latina, mother, wife, worker, housekeeper, and immigrant.
