Ashley Benitez is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, pursuing a Bachelor’s in Neurobiology with a Global Health Certificate. With a rich multicultural heritage as a Salvadorian and Guatemalan, Ashley’s passion for community advocacy and health sciences has shaped her academic and extracurricular pursuits. Ashley joined the WPP COVID-19 Grant initiative in October 2020, where she became a Community Advocate for the Latinx community. Her work in this capacity has been instrumental in bridging the gap between healthcare resources and the Latinx community during the pandemic.

Ashley’s commitment to improving health equity and access is evident in her work within this research project. In addition to her research contributions, Ashley has also served as a Student Intern at Lifecity Chiropractic. Her internship experience has allowed her to gain practical insights into the field of healthcare, complementing her academic studies in Neurobiology. Ashley Benitez is proud to represent Washington, D.C., as a Posse Scholar, a prestigious scholarship program that recognizes leadership potential and academic excellence. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Ashley enjoys indulging in her hobbies, which include cooking and biking.
