Valentina is a first-generation senior pursuing a degree in Health Promotion and Health Equity with a certificate in Global Health. Proud of her Colombian roots and cultural background, she is one of 120 New York scholars awarded the Posse Foundation full-tuition leadership scholarship. Aspiring to a career in the medical field as a Physician Associate, she aims to work in various specialties serving low-income and diverse communities. Valentina is committed to helping underserved populations gain access to affordable healthcare and ensuring they receive the necessary resources and services.

During her time at UW-Madison, Valentina has worked for the Gynecology and Sexual Health department of UHS as a health technician and for UW Recreation & Wellbeing as a Peer Wellness Coach, promoting the health of the campus community. Additionally, she is a member of the Professional Association of Latinx Students for Medical Career Access (PALMA), where she served as the Chief Operating Officer during the 2023-2024 term. In this role, she networked with health professionals and students and created programming to advance their careers.

Previously, Valentina worked for the Center for Patient Partnerships, supporting their mission of transforming healthcare and prioritizing the well-being of patients through education, advocacy, research, and systems change. In her free time, she enjoys dance and the performing arts.
